Grandma Vicki made the investment to come out to visit in Taiwan and we had a great time from start to finish…
For Christmas and New Year’s break, we were able to spend one week in Thailand with friends from Taiwan and one week in the states with friends and family there. Suffice to say, the days were full and nights were slept soundly.
We rented motorcycles in Thailand for a couple of days and drove them around in the country.

We’ve updated to a newer version of the software that runs this blog. If anything seems that it is not working correctly, please let us know…
When we got back to Taiwan last fall, we arrived to a typhoon. After staying for a bit at the grand hotel, we moved to the south part of Taipei into a temporary apartment while our “long term” apartment’s renovations were being finished.

We really want to be able to use this site as a tool to get out to you all what we are up to and what God is showing us in our lives. Our goal is to do a better job this round. Thank you so much for your patience and support!!
Ephesians 3:19
Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God
We are back in Taiwan and the stark difference between the U.S. and here is always very bright when we first arrive. Not only do the smells, architecture, and temperature remind us where we are, but the reality of the depth in religious belief.
The Bunker is part secure storage unit, part childish dream of creating an underground structure, part nostalgia for Taiwanese concrete buildings, part bomb shelter (not really) and (at this stage in the game) part done. At the beginning of the summer, the statement “Since we’re going to move overseas, we should build a storage unit at Selah to keep our gear in” seemed innocent enough. It wasn’t until later, after the storage unit began to take shape, that it started getting referred to as “The Bunker.”
The plan seemed straight forward - find a hill of the right size and with the right access, dig part of it out, create drainage, build a concrete structure in the hole and then back-fill some of dirt around and on top of the structure - leaving a roll-up door exposed for access.
OK, so I just realized we never posted anything about this past rockin’ summer! Wow - for starters, it was a whirlwind and went past faster than we could have expected.

Summer is pretty much here, so I figured a quick post was in order. We are here in Taiwan for two more weeks and then back to the states. We plan to be there for about a month and half, pretty much based out of “Selah” - the place we have in Oregon. We’re going to try to finish the chapel
as well as build a concrete storage unit that will be covered mostly by a hill (at least, that is the idea). If any of you are still wondering what on earth to do with all of your vacation days this summer, you’re welcome to drop by and help cob, or dig, or build forms, or something :-).
We have tons of fun, and if you really want to, you can drive the tractor.
Other activities include playing in the mud, relaxing in the hammok and other forms of relaxing or tiring work - your choice :-).

OK, I’ve had this post in a draft stage for way too long. All I really wanted to do is describe a guy that I remember at YWAM in Marshal, TX about 10 years ago that has always been an image of true praise to me.

Something someone said to me lately has been making be think about the parallels of Karaoke and church service.
