Maliah is to Lions as Malachi is to Lightsabers
Quick post so I can get a couple of neat pics of the fam up before I forget about them.
As a side note (and to explain the title), lately Maliah is infatuated with Lions - she is always in my office asking me to google new pictures of lions and tigers. She especially is fascinated by the pictures of them eating wildebeast or zebras. Malachi, on the otherhand, is very much into swords and lightsabers. He takes it pretty seriously and recently purchased a wooden sword while in Sanyi (a mountain village known for its woodcarving) with his _own_ money (I think it cost about 30% of his life savings). Also, I think he knows all of the types of toy light sabers on the market and is very satisfied with his current lightsaber that has none of the electronic bells and whistles at all - the feature that drew his attention? It fully retracts into the hilt of the light saber with absolutely nothing sticking out (most have a small ridge or one section of the saber still sticking out).
Anyways, on to some pics (click “Read the rest of this entry…” to see the rest of the post)…
First, Maliah on her trusty mount. Unfortunately, Dad has just informed her that it is time to go…
Next, Malachi with laser fingers zapping unknown foes… sorry for the picture quality.
I have taken to call this stage in Lana’s hair re-growth the “incrediboy” stage. Watch the move “
And, a picture of me and the kids stranded under a pavilion in Taichung park during a rain storm.
Lastly, a shot of the family in Taipei on a fact-finding mission for a possible relocation there this fall.

Well, as far as foods go… they are both partial to slushies (syrup-coated ice cones) and other things with sugar in them (although Malachi less-so). Maliah’s favorite food group is meat, and Malachi is pretty much an omnivore. They both really like going to hotpot - I should take some pics and post about it (we go pretty much every Sunday). Also, the deep fried squid is a hit with both of them. Maliah doesn’t like mushrooms or tomatoes, but we’re trying to change her mind. Malachi doesn’t like spicy food.
Anyways - its pretty fun to introduce them to new foods here - for the most part, they will eat whatever it is (or at least eat enough to pass Mom and Dad’s “you have to try it before you say you don’t like it” rule).

Lana- my hair looks just like yours, only with weird blonde ends. Perhaps our connection is what keeps me hacking it off… i am just waiting until we grow it together! I miss you all…. I talk to you in my head all the time but it will be more fun when we have real-out-loud conversations. Kiss the kids…and we are watching the flowers grow until you get here to see them for yourself.
